I know I'm late on this, but both of these songs are catchy as FUCK. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more Dej Loaf in the future.

The Tanboy general drops off this cokefest of a song/music video, presumably off of his upcoming Dear Nonbelievers mixtape. After the jump, stream another drug-dealing inspired song, "The Plug". Apparently, on the day it was released, Bamz answered the phone hundreds of times, as he says a phone number at the end of the song, Mike Jones style. Pretty cool.

Smoke DZA - LCR (Lights, Camera, Rugby) (Audio Stream)
It's only natural that The Kushedgod contributes this song for the upcoming "Forever Madness: The Randy Savage EP" project, considering he himself has two EP's dedicated to Wrestling. I for one, love this new trend of "Wrassle Rap", spearheaded by such artists as DZA, Flatbush ZOMBiES, A$ton Matthews, and others.
Friday, August 1, 2014

Killah Priest - New Reality
"Eternal life is in the journals I write". Off of Killah Priest's new album, The Psychic World Of Walter Reed.
Tuesday, June 3, 2014
Lil B - Goin Platinum (Music Video)
Although he recently released his Hoop Life mixtape, the Basedgod just dropped this video from his immense 101-song mixtape 05 Fuck Em. It seems as if he's upgraded his camera, or altered the shutter speed. I especially like this song for it's use of the Diplomats' "DJ Enuff Freestyle" instrumental. After the song is over, the video continues to show Lil B as a true man of the people, dropping jewels, interacting with fans, etc., and it'll be sure to put a smile on your face.
Friday, May 30, 2014
3D Na'Tee - We Made It (T.Mix) (Music Video)
The first time I heard 3D Na'Tee was on Ransom's song "Dying Breed", and this is my second time hearing her rap. Good lyrics, great flow are present once again for Na'Tee, as she raps over the commonly used "We Made It" instrumental.
Wednesday, May 28, 2014
French Montana - God Body Feat. Chinx
Both French & Chinx show off their more "lyrical" (I hate using that word) side on this new WSHH-premired cut off of Coke Boys 4. La Musica De Harry Fraud on the beat.
Tuesday, May 27, 2014
Ransom - Dying Breed Feat. 3D Na'Tee & Fred The Godson
Damn, Ran just doe NOT stop working, it seems like every few days we get a new song/video from him, and the quality is never compromised. This banger features NY mixtape staple Fred The Godson and 3D Na'Tee. I've never heard Na'Tee before this verse, but the way she killed it, I'm definitely going to keep my eye out for her in the future.

RiFF RAFF - Tropical Vacation (Audio Stream)
I don't check for RiFF RAFF's music all that often, but this song really caught my attention. It sounds majestic, it sounds epic, and above all else, as the song suggests, it sounds tropical. This joint is a true banger.
Saturday, May 17, 2014

Dropping the "Young" from his name, Roddy's first music video from his latest great mixtape, Route The Ruler, features none other than Spitta playing the supporting role.
Wednesday, May 14, 2014
SkyBlew x Backdraft - Journeys in 1st Person (Album)
Man, this guy just doesn't stop working. Uplifting "Nerdcore" (He's much more, in my humble opinion) rapper Skyblew drops his second collaborative project with producer Backdraft, the first being Life In 3rd Person. Backdraft supplies an array of layed back beats, which range from serene to almost whimsical, with Skyblew effortlessly flowing about life, and whether good or bad, he puts an optimistic spin on it. This is that "smile on your face" music right here.
Cam'ron & A-Trak - Dipshits Feat. Juelz Santana
Words cannot describe how excited I was when I watched this. The first Cam/Juelz collaboration since "Salute". Cam rapping like he did back in '06 (The Killa Season Era). A traditional dipset-style sample with a modern take on production, handled by non-other than A-Trak and one of Cam's best collaborators, Just Blaze. These two haven't worked together since Diplomatic Immunity, if I'm not mistaken. Off of Cam & A-Trak's upcoming EP, Federal Reserve. Check out more from the project here.

Joseph Grey - As The Rain Falls Episode 2 (Mixtape)
Manhattan rapper Joseph Grey Drops his 3rd mixtape, As The Rain Falls Episode 2, The sequel to his enthralling debut. I was super-hyped about this project, since it's a follow-up to a mixtape with some truly classic material, and this tape does NOT disappoint. Joseph finally comes into his own on this tape, and perfects the balancing act of battle bars/surrealistic imagery/poetic/"underground" sensibilities that have defined him as an artist. I Highly Recommend you download this project. It's definitely his best work to date.

Big K.R.I.T. - MT. Olympus
The King Remembered In Time released this self-produced banger after getting 500,000 twitter followers. Stream/Download below.

A$AP Twelvyy - Xscape (Music Video)
I like this song more and more every time I hear it. The Gxxd Gxxn drops a solo video for A$AP Mob's upcoming album, L.O.R.D., with the "Xscape". The beat reminds me of something an early-2000's 50 Cent or a mid-90's Mobb Deep would rap over, and Twelvyy's flow/delivery remind me of Havoc with a little West Coast influence. Definitely going to cop the album, as I really enjoyed the Mob's debut mixtape, Lords Never Worry.
Tuesday, April 22, 2014
Grandmilly - Tommy Hilfiger (Music Video)
Raider Klan's own Grandmilly releases the official video for his latest single, "Tommy Hilfiger".
Bodega BAMZ - Glorious (Music Video)
My favorite song off of Strictly 4 My P.A.P.I.Z. gets a music video.
George & Jonathan - George & Jonathan III (Album)
Never heard of these dudes before yesterday, but I have to say, they're the best Chiptune band I've heard in quite a while. Aside from this album being awesome, they way it's presented on their website is INSANE. I would give the bandcamp link, but honestly, the album is best experienced through their website's interactive waveforms. Props to Anamanaguchi for spreading the word on this. I highly suggest checking it out HERE.
Sunday, April 20, 2014
Vado - Zoo Muzik Feat. Chinx & Prodigy
We The Best, Coke Boys, & The Infamous Link up for this absolute BANGER. Best song I've heard in some time.
Friday, April 18, 2014
Cipha Sounds X Drewski - Banned From Radio Feat. Maino, Bodega Bamz, Chinx, Troy Ave, Mack Wilds & CBD
Cipha Sounds and Drewski decided to remake N.O.R.E.'s classic posse cut "Banned From TV", with many of New York's new wave flipping their 90's counterparts' classic verses. While It doesn't top the original, I like the fact that this vid pays homage to a great song and era, giving the it a "modern" twist.

Mona Lisa - IDK I'M HAIGH BABY'S FIRST MIXTAPE (Mixtape)
Round 2 of my internet scavenging, and god did I strike gold. This is the debut tape from artist Mona Lisa. Atmosphere releases the remix to their title track from their new album, featuring a bunch of their friends.
Fat Trel - Gleesh (Mixtape)
Following his solid mixtape SDMG, MMG's new signee Fat Trel drops off Gleesh. More of the expected guns/sex/money talk from Trel, but despite the expected topics, Trel keeps his approach fresh, further honing a style all his own. He somehow gives new life to Trap beats which would sound a dime a dozen with most other rappers, but Trel's lyrics and flow are just a little different, which is what the subgenre needs. Download here.

Buffalo Black - Let There Be BLK (Mixtape)
I spent a lot of time on the internet looking for music...obviously...and for the most part it's rather lackluster. Today though, I came across a nice hidden gem in the form of Buffalo Black, an MC hailing from the Dallas area. I've been listening to a lot of Texas rappers lately, I just love the production heavy tracks, but Buffalo Black has a sound his own. Peep the link below to his full length project, Let There Be Blk. I also included a link to his newest single. Peace.
Preview: Buffalo Black - BAD SEED (Single)

Akilleez The Reaper - Stay With Me (Music Video)
One of NYC's best kept secrets released this video some time ago, and I just recently came across it again, so I decided to post it. An awesome video to an awesome song, this showcases Akilleez penchant for writing great, emotional content, which is just one facet of the versatile artist.

Flume - Space Cadet Feat. Ghostface Killah & Autre Ne Veut
I have no idea what this is, but it features Ghost, so I'm posting it.
A$ton Matthews - A$ton 3:16 (Mixtape)
Using Ice Cube's Death Certificate cover as inspiration, Cutthroat Boyz' Brick Flair drops his third mixtape, A$ton 3:16. A$ton's playful flow contrasts with the bleak music music and subject matter of his songs, creating an almost "dark humor" vibe. Other artists have made use of this contrast in recent years, most notably A$AP Ferg and Schoolboy Q, but A$ton's brand is unique enough to stand on it's own. Most of the songs have A$ton mixing a bouncy flow with multisyllabics, over sparse, dark, trap-inspired beats. Definitely his best work yet, I strongly suggest you download his mixtape below. Download link courtesy of 2DBZ.

Mad Ciphas Episode 3.01
The legendary public access program Mad Ciphas has had a recent renaissance of sorts, in the form of a newly formed YouTube channel, Mad Ciphas TV. Mixing throwback footage from the Early 2000's with brand new ciphers from up and coming artists, this is currently one of my favorite series' on YouTube.

Smoke DZA - City Of Dreams (Music Video/Download)
Directed by none other than Damon Dash, DZA keeps it all the way Harlem with his newest video. Aside from utilizing local Manhattan hot spots for the scenery, Smoke has cameos from none other than Killa & Capo. With the recent collabs with Bodega Bamz, I wouldn't be surprised if Dame was on the verge of creating a new Harlem dynasty. As for the song, it's definitely reminiscent of mid-90's hip-hop, but doesn't feel forced for the sake of Nostalgia. This is how it's supposed to be done. "City of Dreams" is off of DZA's upcoming album, Dream.ZONE.Achieve, due out this April Fool's day (it better not be some type of sick prank). Download "City of Dreams" below.
Big K.R.I.T. - Lac Lac Feat. A$AP Ferg (#WeekOfKRIT 1-3)
On Day 3 of Big K.R.I.T.'s Week Of K.R.I.T., the Mississippi rapper/producer links up with The Fergenstein for a layed-back banger, and like much of K.R.I.T.'s music, it sounds like it was made specifically for driving around. I was SUPER hyped about this, considering both Krizzle & Ferg are two of my favorite current artists, and they didn't disappointed. Download/Stream all of the Week Of K.R.I.T. songs currently released below:
#3: Lac Lac Feat. A$AP Ferg:
#2: Conscious Effort Freestyle:

With the current events that are happening across the globe, this video gains some extra resonance. Check out the album artwork below.

BONES - TeenWitch (Album)
Th@ Kid's newest album is an eerie one, to say the least. Every song covers the topic of teenage angst in one way or another, with many referencing the way-too-real topics of school shootings and suicide. Sonically, Bones does more of what he does best, which is go back and forth between dark, atmospheric hip-hop tracks and Screamo-inspired rock songs, sometimes mixing both. This album also sees more of a late-90's indie scene influence as well, which keeps in line with the music of a time when school shootings were at an all-time high. Although musically, the album is a solid piece of work, it makes me as a listener wonder what Bones' intentions were. If the goal is to creep me out (which falls in line with much of Bones' work), then mission accomplished, although you have to wonder at what cost. If the goal is to speak to those who have these dark thoughts in an effort to make them feel like they can relate, then I guess that goal was also achieved. I have a feeling it's a bit of both.

Grandmilly - Tommy Hilfiger
After releasing his great Amerikkka The Beutiful album & The Miseducation EP, Grandmilly is back at it again with the self-produced "Tommy Hilfiger". No word yet about whether this is just a loosie or part of a larger project, but either way, new Grandmilly music is always a good thing. Download the song directly from the soundcloud player below.

Ace Hood - Fear (Music Video)
Ace Hood is supremely underrated, and no one can tell me otherwise. Starvation III, out now.
Skyblew x SublimeCloud (The Digi Destined) - Episode 1: Clouded Dreams & Beautiful Memories (Album)
Skyblew is at it again with another Nerdcore project, although boxing him into that category is a great disservice, as he's one of my favorite new artists that makes truly uplifting music. Mr. Blew's style, as far as I've listened to him, has been a mixture of layed-back, "Jet Life" style production and sensibilities, mixed with contemplative and introspective lyrics. Although at times Skyblew might tackle darker issues, he never lets the darkness overtake or dictate the music, which can be taken as a musical decision that also doubles as an analogy to his overall message. This time around, he's partnered with like-minded producer SublimeCloud on a full-length album. SublimeCloud has been keeping busy as of late as well, releasing a beat tape compiling instrumentals he's released over the last year (most or all of them sampling different anime and videogame theme songs), and gearing up for a new EP entitled Homegrown Vol. 1: Endless Journey. Personally, I was already super-excited to get another Skyblew project after his excellent debut album, which I can't praise enough, and the Digimon reference was just the icing on the cake.

Curren$y - The Drive In Theatre (Mixtape)

Nino Bless - R.O.A.M. 3 (Audio Trip) (Album)
Nino's album, which is the first part of the 3rd installment of the R.O.A.M. Series (Which is itself started as a part of the Latin Marksman Series) just dropped. Bless never dissapoints with the R.O.A.M. series, and although this project is technically an album, I think this cements the series into the mixtape series hall of fame, along with other classics series' like Top 5 And Better and Mood Muzik. Download/Stream Here.

Tuesday, February 4, 2014
Gunplay - Household Name Feat. Masspike Miles
Don Logan doesn't get nearly enough credit for his lyricism. In my opinion, he's overlooked because of his flow, southern drawl, and usage of trap beats, but if anyone were to look at his lines on paper, you'd be hard-pressed to say he wasn't a great rapper. Point in case, this video for his song "Household Name" featuring Masspike Miles. Via 2Dopeboyz.
Grandmilly x Eric Dingus - Silence (Music Video)
Directed by PROF. of Captured Visions, Grandmilly unveils this visual from last year's Sleepers EP, which finds the versatile Long Island rapper spitting over Eric Dingus' echo-y, atmospheric production. If you like what you hear, cop Grandmilly's album Amerikkka The Beautiful and his latest project, The Miseducation EP.
Monday, February 3, 2014
Honest Abe - Legacy (Mixtape)
A day late, but better late than never. This dope cut from New York native Honest Abe is a perfect blend of abstract production mixed with eccentric and surreal lyrics. Right off the jump the tape brings you into the world of the young emcee. The artistry of each song has you creating new visuals in your head every play. My only grip with it is that it's only 5 songs deep, you're left wanting more and more. Because of all of this, I'm excited to give this the COP badge of approval. Catch the Download link below. Enjoy.
Download: Honest Abe - Legacy (Mixtape)
Natti - Architecture Feat. Sha Stimuli & Substantial
This didn't pop up on my radar when it first dropped, so I'm posting it now for those who are like me and missed this great song/video. Natti (of one of my favorite groups, Cunninlynguists) released this video from his debut solo album Still Motion, produced entirely by his bandmates Deacon the Villain & Kno.

Chinx - Feelings Feat. French Montana
Less than 24 Hours after his arrest, the artist formerly known as Chinx Drugz releases this video from his I'll Take It From Here EP. The song features French Montana (who was also arrested last night, along with Jadakiss), and overall, is a good example of why Chinx is the obvious front-runner for "next to blow" from his camp.
Da Mafia 6ix - Break Da Law (Music Video)
Containing all of the original members of Three 6 Mafia (sans Juicy J), Da Mafia 6ix dropped the chaotic 6ix Commandments mixtape a few months ago, and this is their latest riot inciting music video from the tape. R.I.P. Lord Infamous.
Side Note: If you're looking for some vintage Hypnotize Minds music, Project Pat also recently released his 2001 album Mista Don't Play: Everythangs Workin as a mixtape, including a few new songs thrown into the mix. DOWNLOAD HERE.

Big Sean - Ashley Feat. Miguel
One of the best tracks on Sean's excellent Hall of Fame album gets an awesome, surpisingly graphic video. If you're interested, also check out the excellent "Road To Hall of Fame" Documentary.

Meek Mill - Heaven or Hell Feat. Jadakiss
One of the standout tracks from Dreamchasers 3 gets a really nice visual accompaniment, courtesy of Revolt & directed by Itchy House Films. New Jersey battle rappers Shotgun Suge & Tsu Surf play significant roles in the clip as well.
Big Sean - 1st Quarter Freestyle (Music Video & Song Download)
Produced by KeY Wane & Travi$ Scott, Big Sean's new song isn't reported to be off of any specific project, but it sure does bang. Sean seems to be getting closer and closer to becoming one of the top dogs in the game (in my humble opinion), releasing great albums, great mixtapes, popular singles, and slowly just becoming an overall better artist. Download his new song by clicking on the "Soundcloud" logo in the audio player.

Cam'ron & A-Trak - Humphrey (Audio Stream)
In an unexpected turn, Cam'ron recently announced teaming up with DJ A-Trak for an EP, entitled Federal Reserve. Aside from a snippet of a song previewed in an Instagram video, "Humphrey" (co-produced by Party Supplies) is the first song released in promotion for the project. The unexpected collaboration between the two is very much welcome, as it seems they have a real musical chemistry together, similar to Run The Jewels. Look for the EP to drop soon, as it's being released via Fools Gold Records, executive produced by Dame Dash, and sponsored by Complex Magazine.

Isaiah Rashad - Soliloquy (Music Video)
I admit, I'm relatively late to the Isaiah Rashad hype party, seeing as this is the first thing I've heard from him (aside from his verse in the BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher). TDE's newest signee is dropping his public demo Cilvia for the masses tonight at midnight, and this video is presumably the last piece of pre-release promotion we'll get. I like what I've heard, and will looking out for more material from Rashad in the future.
Smoke DZA - Legends In The Making (Ashtray Pt. 2) Feat. Curren$y & Wiz Khalifa
Sponsored by HotNewHipHop, the KushedGod dropped a new video today for the sequel to one of my favorite songs off of Rugby Thompson, and like part 1, this song is also produced by none other than Harry Fraud. The song will presumably be off of his upcoming Dream.ZONE.Achieve album, which is set to drop this April Fool's day (unless the date is his idea of some sort of sick joke). I need some new DZA in my life.

Doley Bernays - Till We Fall (Music Video)
Directed by Kwaz "Scriptz" Fraser, Reelife's Doley Bernays just dropped this video in promotion for his new EP, Just In Case. The song is produced by frequent collaborator and labelmate MP Williams (Co-producer of A$AP Rocky's "Ghetto Symphony"), who's avant garde style complements Bernays' contemplative lyrics.
Grandmilly - 12 AM (Music Video)
Raider Klan's Grandmilly recently dropped this cool video for "12 AM", off of his The Miseducation EP. The project has the Hempstead, Long Island native rapping over instrumentals that all sample songs from the soundtrack for "The Education of Sonny Carson". If you like what you hear, be sure to download his album, Amerikkka The Beautiful, which is the rapper's most varied project to date, in terms of utilizing different flows and instrumental styles (A few songs even have an early 2000's Neptunes feel).

SkyBlew - StandAloneBelievingInDecember (Music Video)
Alabama native/North Carolina transplant SkyBlew releases this interesting visual project, comprised of verses from "Stand Alone Complex", "Something to Believe In" and "Gone Til December", from Life In 3rd Person, The Marvelous Slumber, and Window Seat On That Midnight Train, respectively. The Latter was one of my favorite albums of 2013, and Gone Till December is definitely one of my favorite tracks off of the album, so it's good to see it get some shine. According to Mr. Blew, this video is meant to not only showcase his various projects, but to also show how "each project correlates with the next..".

Lil B - 05 Fuck Em (Mixtape)
2013 was a somewhat slow year for the BasedGod, having released only a few mixtapes, but part of the reason was he was working on this massive 101-song mixtape, 05 Fuck Em, which he's been promoting since at least August. Overall I really enjoyed this mixtape, which gives off the vibe of a thug fed up with the ills of the world, hence the "Fuck Em" part of the title. The "05" refers to a substantial amount of the non-original portions of the tape using instrumentals from the mid-2000's. I was surprised that while the tape starts to drag near the end (around the 70's & 80's), overall, the enormous project is surprisingly enjoyable for such an incredibly long listen (6+ Hours). The main reason for this is that Lil B really pulls out all the stops on this tape, and keeps things fresh by using a lot of different styles on this tape, and he doesn't clump a particular style together for the tracklisting. An introspective song will be followed by a cooking anthem over a trap instrumental, followed by a freestyle, followed by a "more lyrical" song, etc. Another thing I really like about this tape is the usage of Dipset instrumentals for a lot of the freestyles, which I love. Not only does it show his appreciation for one of my favorite groups, but I like hearing the BasedGod's different take on a lot of the beats. My guess is that this Diplomats influence is the reason for the American flag on the cover, referencing Diplomatic Immunity. Overall, 05 Fuck Em is a must-have rare collectible for any Lil B Fan, and is probably his best overall work since White Flame. Download here.

Killer Mike - Ghetto Gospel (Music Video)
Killer Mike recently released the music video for this song off of his critically acclaimed 2012 album, R.A.P. Music, which was entirely produced by El-P. Their 2013 album as a duo, Run The Jewels, is one of my favorite albums of last year.

Young Thug - Danny Glover
I don't know why, but I like this guy's music. Download the clean or or dirty version here. Via Mass Appeal.

Lex Lavo - Coogi Sweater (Music Video)
Peep the latest cut off Lavo's mixtape Bodega Dreams 2. Lately this has been one of my favorite tracks to play in the whip. Watch the video above, and make sure you hop over the download link below and pick up his project.

Black Dave - Wadadadang Feat. Bodega Bamz
This is my first time hearing Black Dave, and so far I enjoyed his layed back, melodic flow. The real star of the song however is the Tanboys general Bodega Bamz, as this is probably his best verse since the release of his Strictly 4 My P.A.P.I.Z. mixtape.

Heat Blaze - Born Alone Die Alone
Fresh off releasing the first single off his debut solo effort, Heat Blaze finally drops Born Alone Die Alone. A walk through of his life through his eyes. The bulk of the production came from Kenny At is me and John F30, with two produced by our own BeatsByBags. Head over the download link below. Bless.

Heat Blaze - Set Straight (Single)
I've had the pleasure of working with Heat Blaze for about 7 years now, and every subsequent project he releases outshines the prior one. This song is no different, and is the first release from Heat Blaze's debut "underground" album, Born Alone Die Alone, which drops later today. I have the honor of producing two songs on the album, this being one of them. The track doesn't contain any samples, and contains a mixture of airy synths, dynamic drums, and winds. Lyrically, each verse covers a different topic which needs to be "set straight" or elaborated on.

Common - War (Audio Stream)
A few years after releasing the excellent The Dreamer/The Believer album, Common returns with the first single off of his new album, Nobody Smiling, and just like the last one, is produced entirely by No-ID. Strikingly different from the singles from his last album, which all seemed to be meticulously produced using a number of production techniques, the instrumental crafted here seems to be nothing more than a drumless loop, but the song is probably better for it (think Ghostface's "Gunz N Razors").
